Right, but I care less about the specific day and more about the month. When people ask me when the PS4 launched, I'm more likely to say "November", not "the 15th".

It's a bit of a hussle in UK some say November the 15th and others the 15th of November. Anyway I think it's logical to order the most meaningful number till the least specific number or the other way around. Besides in Dutch we only have 15 november 2013. But I grew up with that system the same way I think metric is more logical than the imperial system and miles. In the end everyone uses the system he or she grew up with. Sadly for you a big part of the world uses DD/MM/YYYY and I doubt that's going to change in our projected life times.
