No, its not point about one console, but about one platform, we could have Switch Mini/Pocket, Switch just for home console play, Switch Pro, Switch 2, Switch VR/AR addon.. Switch like hybrid console gave Nintendo lotsa opportunities for other iterations of hardware or addons, so there is no any reason to make separate platform with separate games and again divide their resources on two platforms.
I assume we will see Switch Mini/Pocket just for handheld play with price point of around $150-200 at end of 2018. or early 2019. and it will effectively replace curent 3DS price point on market.

You're assuming they meant one platform. The only thing they've really said before the Swtich was announced was that the next home console and handheld consoles "may have an integrated platform", and that future devices will have "a fair degree of technical integration". No where does this distincly mean that Nintendo intends on supporting one platform going forward, just that these platforms will share very similar technology. In fact, Iwata goes so far to demonstrate he does not mean one single platform in this quote
""If the transition of software from platform to platform can be made simpler, this will help solve the problem of game shortages in the launch periods of new platforms,""
I mean, I don't know about you, but that seem to me that the prime objective of the streamlining process was to make it far easier to support two platforms and port games between those platforms than to just support one platform in different form factors.
But that's just me though.

But fact that I mentioned also point on one unified platform (their talk about unified platform, fact they admit they can't any more support effectively two different platforms, fact they merge their handheld and home console hardware division, and handheld and home console software divisions..).
Only time will prove if I'm right, but I almost certain we will see Switch Mini/Pocket and we will not see another platform that will exist alongside Switch.
