True, the 3DS was still an 8th gen console despite the fact it wasn't as powerful as a PS Vita or Xbox One and when everything's all said and done the 3DS will likely will end up the 2nd best selling 8th gen hardware. The power of the Switch in such a compact form factor that can be taken anywhere definitely put's the Switch a generation forward in terms of hardware progression.
