For those who dont understand ports, they are less costly compared to new games and they increase profitability, especially when a console is doing well and missed out high expected numbers that did not come for the previous console. There are plenty of people last gen who were not multi-console owners. The Last of Us reached maximum sales which I believe was around 11 million + because of it. Mario Kart sold record numbers on the Wii, so it would be safe to assume with a new console that sells better than the last there would be a huge community of people who missed out who could be capitalized on for less money. This will not hinder future endeavors, because..again...its a port. The profitability of ports also help fund new games. Think about it.
