So say you're developing a game, do you think sales will be affected the same amount if you released on PS4 launch next to a Cod, Battlefield, Fifa and assissins creed as it would be releasing on the switch next to lego city undercover, bomberman R, 1-2 switch and snipperclippers?

I'll mention for a third time, Zelda would sell amazingly no matter when it came out, but it's completely disingenuous to say lack of major titles has nothing at all to do with it.

But isn't a lack of major titles subjective? Seriously, games like Bomberman, Puyo Puyo vs. Tetris and 1-2-Switch are more exciting to me than Call of Duty or Fifa. I buy my home consoles primarily to play local multiplayer games with my girlfriend and my friends and there's lots of people who do the same. Bomberman has already shipped 500k copies and it's on track to become a million seller. And that is not because of lack of competition. Bomberman is a genuinely great multiplayer experience many people were looking forward to.

I remember these disucssions from the Wii days, when Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, 2D Mario, etc. weren't "real games" and "low quality". But people kept buying these games anyway and they had extremely long legs. The same will happen to some of the games on the Switch. Bomberman will still sell during the holidays when lots of "AAA" games from early 2017 will long be forgotten.
