So, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's online isn't superior to the Wii U version's.

From what I experienced, it's far worse than on Wii U. It takes longer to the see the voted map. Sometimes up to 15 seconds of nothing happening. There are issues with getting items... Meaning, you have to wait longer and you only get mushrooms and coins for the whole course. And disconnects of course, where  you suddenly get kicked out or you find yourself only with 2 other people left in the lobby.
