So, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's online isn't superior to the Wii U version's.

I would not get your hopes up, they have little reason to better the online since it works well enough as it is at this point.

The only issue I've experienced is other players not always breaking the item boxes. Not a huge issue to me actually...
