He's right too on the third party thing. If NBA 2K was coming to the Wii U I wouldn't buy it. I mean why buy that version when you could buy the PS4 version to play in the same way with better graphics. The incentive was always "well if you buy it on Nintendo maybe they'll have some fun gimmick with the controller like motion shooting or dual screen play calling or some such" and those things usually turned out to be underwhelming additions.

But this year I'm buying NBA 2K on the Switch (no PS4 version). Because I fly a lot for work and being able to play that on the go will make flights go by like a breeze. That is a tangiable thing that adds value to my experience and you don't even need to be a Nintendo fan to appreciate that.

Couldn't agree more. I've seen a lot of people on this site and others who would have never considered the Nintendo console's port of a game now saying they'll either get the Switch version of something or double dip on it just to be able to play it anywhere.

All throughout the Wii U and 3DS generation, I'd constantly debate with myself over which version of a game I want, or do I want to be able to play it comfortable on a big screen or take it with me, or should I wait to see if it will get ported to the console I'd prefer to play it on. The fact that I no longer have to pick one or the other is a humongous win.
