Switch will get not only Mario Kart 9, it will also get versions of classic Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 with new online modes.
Nintendo's big selling IP are 3D Mario, 2D Mario, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Zelda, Fire Emblem, and Splatoon.
And Switch is already getting as many as 5 of those in year 1 ... they are going to need sellers for 2018, 2019, 2020, etc. Mario Kart can't be on the sidelines.
