And actually much more popular compared to previous Retro games (Metroid Prime games), that was purple business decision of Nintendo. It's hard to believe that DKCR sold more than Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 3 and Metroid Trilogy, combined. :)

It isn't hard. It was during a holiday season and the first 2DK game since a decade or more.

 

Once you remove the Wii sales and the novelty, you are left with an irrelevant flop like Tropical Freeze.
