It's just coming out now. 

My guess is Switch/NX was supposed to launch in fall 2016, so they opted for the Tegra X1 as that would be the only chip available for that time. The X2 probably costs a little more right now too. It'll come down in cost in a year or so, and you'll probably sell Nintendo use it in a revision(s).
