If Nintendo employs Breath of the Wild logic here, the next Super Mario Bros. will feature a new style. The likelihood is rising, now that BotW is released and can be seen in action. Nintendo's attitude here can't be "we'll be content with 5-10m", rather they will have to aim for 20m and a caliber of quality that moves Switch hardware in droves.

If the people at Nintendo were content with declining sales, then Breath of the Wild would have never materialized.

I would hope you're right but every Nintendo series did do worse than their DS/Wii counterparts. I have to doubt they're gonna change the styles of all of their games especially when doing so is not a guarantee for success.
