No, we didn´t, but we accepted more people than expected basically because many other EU countries didn´t take responsibility for people in crisis.

I guess the next question becomes why should any country take responsibility for migrants when so many of them are:

-not refugees escaping persecution and/or war, but rather coming for economic opportunities ( http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/six-out-of-10-migrants-to-europe-come-for-economic-reasons-and-are-not-refugees-eu-vice-president-a6836306.html )

-young, healthy military-age men who seem have lower IQ's than EU young men, and thus a greater bent towards violent actions and possibly radicalism

-will probably add insiginifcant gains to the workforce considering just how many of them are illiterate, resulting in a greater demand from the nation's welfare to keep them going

A nation's leaders has to consider these ramifications.  Not just look at a few heart-breaking pictures and then hastily make a decision that could fundamentally change their country.

Because of humanity.
