To each his own but 800 × 240 px for 3DS, and 1280 × 720 for Nintendo Switch is a much bigger leap than; 256 × 192 px for the Nintendo DS, and 240 × 160 px for the Game Boy Advance. The Nintendo Switch is the first the HD deicated gaming handheld (That is an actual platform with exclusive libabary, it's OS, it's own digital store, physical controls, i.e. not some ios or android smartphone or tablet that is far from the class of being a dedicated gaming handheld) for sure expeceted that Sony would be the first, I thought Nintendo's next handheld would be between Gamecube and Wii. |
Honestly found the DS a bigger leap since we finally got Mario in 3D in your pocket. in 1999 I had a dream playing portable system playing Mario 64 on the go. 2004 I got it. It blew me away quite honestly. I have a Vita and 3DS and seen some really good looking games on both. RE Rev held it's own on consoles. Wii U being a half step inbetween with the Gamepad also kinbda got used to visuals near Switch like on a 6 inch screen.
