I see. The first time I didn't read the article all the way to the end because of that Microsoft PR statement. But the last paragraph clearly references VGC numbers, so that must be where the "confirmation" for more than 500k in the first week for Switch came from.

But VGC has Switch below 500k. They're taking Reggie's statement (Fastest selling Nintendo console in 9 days), and rounding up by quite a bit. Unless they're looking only at front page numbers which is "North America".

I'll be honest, I think that article is all speculation and nothing official.
