Looking at it from a perspective other than just the specs themselves, like marketing and messaging, XB has most certainly learned some lessons and is moving ahead smoothly because of it.

Project Scorpio
CPU - Eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz
GPU - 40 customized compute units at 1172MHz
Mem - 12GB GDDR5
Mem Band - 326GB/s

PS4 Pro
CPU - Eight Jaguar x86 cores clocked at 2.1GHz
GPU - 36 improved GCN compute units at 911MHz
Mem - 8GB GDDR5
Mem Band - 218GB/s

For starters, having Eurogamer break down and detail the specs, and accept them based on what XB said and showed what it could do, was very smart.

If you look at how the specs of the Scorpio are written out, its done very smart from a marketing perspective (I doubt Eurogamer had complete freedom to write/compare the Scorpio specs in anyway they pleased)
There is no mention of Jaguar or Puma in the CPU spec, even though Eurogamer said it is based on Jaguar. There is no mention of Polaris or GCN in the GPU spec, even though Eurogamer said it is based on Polaris. Its written down in such a way, that what stands out, is the difference in numbers between the two, and Scorpio easily wins that comparison.

The CPU is most certainly not a standard Jag, and the GPU not a standard Polaris either, but XB has made sure that the messaging isn't going to be spun against them and will work in their favor. Even the Scorpio website gives out very general information like 6Tflop GPU, making it clear from a non technical standpoint, "ours is better".

I can only assume, whatever happens at E3, better or worse than expected, XB is going to come out of it with a VERY clear message and direction for Scorpio and XB as a whole, which is just another step in the right direction.
