Well, as long as a game/book/movie isn't targeting a historical setting or a setting based in our world I'm fine with the authors picking stuff from different cultures and mix it into something new. Why should a fanatasy be held back by reality?

You still have to be respectful toward a culture and best you read that article all the way through. I can even point to a couple talks about the subject when I get back form the heart doctor.
