I was going to make a few points like this at the bottom of the initial thread post, so everyone understood that I wasn't trying to make a point that Scorpio will be $499 at launch. I just didn't want to add any confusion to the question itself and the options though, so I left it out.
It's a valid point in general though. Scorpio could launch anywhere from $399 to $599, and there's many reasons why it could potentially fit any of those price points. The reason I went with $499, is because that seemed to be the the price point most people were assuming in other threads, as did I, plus it also ended up being Eurogamers best guess as well.
What if Scorpio ends up being $399? Then very simply, that's Awesome, and the best anyone could hope for. (You could also just drop all of the prices I used by $100, which could change the results slightly, but shouldn't really change which option the gamers would prefer in terms of what you would get for the price, since all 3 options would equally end up a better value).
