I don't agree with the first point. Nintendo can get away with a small power upgrade because they offer new ways to play games, in this case the home console/portable hybrid, they are in less direct competition with the other console makers, and they offer a wealth of massive first party titles that sell systems. And they make new IP too.
Scorpio is a great mid-gen upgrade, but a poor generational leap when you are in direct competition with another console with a higher focus on power. A PS5 in say two years would blow it out of the water. I guess you could then argue that MS would have another upgrade a year or two after, but it would then have to see a huge upgrade to make it significantly more powerful than the PS5.
