I'm pretty indifferent on it so far. I don't understand why people are upset about them changing the setting. I don't think Netflix would have put money into it if they were just going to copy over the mediocre Death Note live action. They would just get it licensed and on Netflix.

I bet that this movie will push people to love the original Japanese live action...

It's pretty good and has been well received anyway, this one probably won't be.

I guess it may push people to that, but I've heard very, very little good about the live action series. All anecdotal of course.
