And Mario Run was pointless due to no releases of actual Mario games on 3ds/Wii U/Switch. They promoted.. nothing with this app?

Mario Maker 3DS I think.

Pokemon Go is one of those things ... I dunno if we'll see that again for a long time. Animal Crossing iOS/Android could be big if they handle it right.

That. Also Harvest Moon, even though it's not Nintendo's IP IIRC.

OT : Going freemium or paid is about what they really want.

If they want some easy revenue on the short term, with a risk of loosing every possible mobile revenue later, paid is the way to go. (At some point no one will be willing to pay 5-10 bucks for a nintendo mobile game)

If they want to strengthen their IPs, market their console games, bring in a new generation towards Nintendo and remind older "ex-"gamers Nintendo is still cool, freemium is the best long term solution.
