Tiny batteries could simultaneously power and cool chips

Researchers designed a proof of concept battery that’s just 1.5mm thick and which generates 1.4 watts of power per square centimeter of surface space (or about 1 watt per square centimeter when you account for the power it takes to keep the liquid pumping).

Intel launches its first Optane SSD with 3D XPoint memory

It’s called the Intel Optane P4800X, and it’s a solid state drive designed for enterprise applications. It’s also got an enterprise price tag: the first version to ship will be a 375GB SSD that sells for $1520.

What makes 3D XPoint interesting is that it offers read and write speeds that rival what you’d expect from DRAM memory. But unlike DRAM, you can use 3D XPoint for long-term storage, since it’s non-volatile memory.

CIVILIZATION 6 LAUNCHES FREE 60-TURN DEMO

http://www.pcgamer.com/civilization-6-launches-free-60-turn-demo/
Since its arrival last October, Firaxis and 2K's Civilization 6 has launched a host of updates, a catalogue of player-made mods, and its Australian Summer DLC—which sees the land Down Under enter the fold for the first time in the entire Civ series. If you're yet to experience any of that, it's also now launched a free demo.

>>I've already downloaded it, and will try it during the weekend.

I know what I am going to try sooner rather than later
