Is Breath of the Wild really that good?

I have the Platinum trophy on an open world game that really is an empty dull world, Mad Max. That world is a dull empty wasteland and it's a gorgeous vision of the apocalypse. Just saying....   

Oh dont get me started on Mad Max :) man that is the most interesting boring game I've ever played. Love the setting, the game is sooooo tedious. How did you get platinum, I've got most, but as all of the roads etc are taken over I dont think I can complete the 100% of all challenges :(

So yes I appreciate not all open world games are made equal, Mad Max is definately one of the worst I've played (and in a sick kind of way I enjoyed it)... its so repetative.
