The Switch is competing with the PS4 and XB1 in the sense that Nintendo will need to try to get consumers to buy their console instead of others similar to how the dreamcast competed with the 5th and 6th gen consoles. Then when the PS5 and new versions of the XB1 come out ti will continue to compete with them until Nintendo launches another console.

They're competing, in the sense, that they're all trying to grab your dollars. Regarding market share, however, there is only one 9th gen machine with 100% of that market.
