Agreed, thinking more along the line of 4 years.
Each system gets 6 years of guaranteed support. So mandatory Xbox One support til 2019, Scorpio til 2023 etc.
What they'll need to do is ensure that Scorpio has an impressive CPU which can support the future PS5 games, because that'll be what stops this plan for working. A weaker GPU will quite comfortably be accommodated is graphics calling and lower resolution.
