It's very solid. The console feels faster than the Wii U (duh) and the transition from portable to home mode is very seamless. In terms of graphics it's roughly the same jump as from GC to Wii. Games will look like Wii U games with some additional shine and higher resolution in docked mode. Bomberman is a blast with 3 players (need a second pair of Joy-Con).

I had this random problem that my TV would shut off while the Switch was docked after 2 hours, no idea why. And at one point the green light (for TV output) on the dock was on but my TV said there was no signal. Inserting the console again solved the problem, I hope this won't occur frequently.

All in all I'm pleased. It's not a PS4 level console so I'd definitely recommend a PS4 or Xbox One for epic single-player games but it's a great console for party games and taking those party games with you on the go. It was designed to be played together with other people and it does that job really well.
