80k isn't like a "throw a party" launch, but it isn't a pure disater either. UK is going to be a challenging market for Nintendo.
I think Mario Kart 8 should be launch 2 weeks earlier ... late April is too long, it makes it almost two full months between big releases for a system that has a very small lineup to begin with, I dunno if that was a good idea. I understand Nintendo wants Mario Kart for Golden Week in Japan, but the Euro and North American markets shouldn't have to wait that long.
They can't have such gaps between releases, especially early because I don't believe 1,2 Switch is anywhere close to what Wii Sports was for 2006 and is not going to be able to carry the hardware once the Zelda enthusiasts (earliest adopters) get their fill.
