Day 1 reviews are kinda pointless anyway for a game system as others have said.
The DS (the most successful Nintendo system ever) really wouldn't deserve more than a 6/10 on launch day either.
The PS3, which arguably ended up as probably the best overall system last gen, likely wouldn't do much better than 6.5/10 on launch day either.
You can judge basically the build quality of game hardware on launch day, but pretty much all game hardware these days is fairly solidly built ... no one makes pieces of crap hardware anymore.
