A surprise to who? Smartphones were already wildly successful.
At the end of the day, a product's success doesn't invalidate a poor review anyway. If a person has a complaint about a tablet not being good for a work environment ... it's a valid point, whether or not the product is successful or not doesn't have any bearing on that.
It's like saying "well you have to give the new Transformers movie a higher score because it had a huge opening weekend" .... uhhh .... no you don't.
