Who was saying tablets were going to fail anyway? And you can't criticize a tablet's functionality because it's successful? Says who? 

You are losing my point again, I'm talking about a similar lack of vision, not about wether he said is gonna fail or not, in both cases some people looked it from a narrowminded pov in which they only see what the thing lacks when compared directly with a different kind of device already stablished, and yes, at least as far as I remember tablets were received pretty badly at first, its gigantic success was a surprise for many, in this case IGN review seems to be more of an exception though. 

A surprise to who? Smartphones were already wildly successful. 

At the end of the day, a product's success doesn't invalidate a poor review anyway. If a person has a complaint about a tablet not being good for a work environment ... it's a valid point, whether or not the product is successful or not doesn't have any bearing on that. 

It's like saying "well you have to give the new Transformers movie a higher score because it had a huge opening weekend" .... uhhh .... no you don't.
