Well the Wii U's been discontinued so there is likely to be no official price drop. You'd probably need to buy one used to get one cheap enough to be worth it in 2017. But there are a lot good games on the Wii U, check the highest rated on metacritic but I personally recommend Splatoon and Mario Kart 8.
