It means more than nothing. It means they can utilize the software better.  Shaders will be better written and advanced feature sets are more likely to be utilized.   It's akin to saying there are 2 groups of photoshop users.  Group A hasn't used it much so their skills with it are low.  Group has been using it for a long and are highly skilled at using it.   Nintendo (Group A) is saying their photoshop skills are not equitable with Group B (western developers).

It doesn't mean they now have 800 person teams and $200 million budgets.  

So Unreal engine is better than all Nintendo engines. Got it.
