So finally saw "your name" and I gotta say I loved it.

The animation was gorgeous and all the characters were very likeable. The movie really shines after the 1st half an hour, that's where the buildup leads to and the real ordeal comes in and becomes a roller coaster of emotions between the dual protagonists. I was glued to my screen the entire time watching this film and can see myself watching it again, even though I barely rewatch movies.

At first view what happens is a pretty common concept for a movie, but the writing and directing definetly shows how you can turn something we've seen before and give it new life to feel like something new and refreshing. Would totally recommend to anyone wanting to watch an anime movie, whether casual or someone who watches anime in general.

I just saw it again with friends today, even if it's really unusual for me to see a movie twice at the cinema. Awesome movie, beautiful and both funny and moving. I love the OST as well, definitely a must watch for anyone interested in anime movies.

It's already the highest grossing anime film ever (more than Spirited Away) before the release in US and Canada, a well-deserved success. I'm sad that it didn't get nominated for the Oscars though (maybe because of the lack of US release so far...).

I need to watch Kotonaha no Niwa now (the previous Makoto Shinkai movie), there are a couple of references to this one in Your Name.
