on the other hand, they had essentially no extra pheripherals. Most people had 2-4 wiimotes (or opted for a cheap 3rd party one), which made the Wii U pro controller the only extra accessories. they'll definitely make money from joycons/docks/pro controllers.
Also, they sold the Wii U at a loss. that isn't a concern anymore. Add in the fact that games won't take as long to make, and a lot of the issues aren't issues anymore. Instead of making 2 mario karts, they can focus on making one only that is higher quality
