Wow I'm amazed. I had absolutely no idea this thing existed. It's really confusing how Nintendo could go from being SO far ahead of the times to suddenly seeming like a company that is having trouble keeping up with the modern world in that regards.

I think tha was part of the problem. Because non of those things when they tred become mainstream successes (ie vidoe image capture, online gaming).

They probably thought it would never take off and stppped trying to puh them each gen.

Sayig all that they should have realised in the gamecube era when xbox online took off that the should be focusing on improving the experince. THis has been frustrating. Taking to long to adopt after something has become mainstream.

Wii's online was surely an improvement over the Xbox one. Too bad Wii U was a huge step back - I'd hoped they'd be improving upon.

The 80's and 90's you relly never knew when the internet took off. Basically the cost was the issue holding online play back - this did change when broadband internet became available.

Gotta love nintendo fans hiding behind daddy PC in the comments. Just like Sony guys did last gen with valve games and mass effect. "Nintendo has games you can't get on other platforms, I can get everything on PC" Instead of acknowledging Nintendo has bad 3rd party.  Anyways, it would be cool to see them go 3rd party IMO since they're good devs and bad hardware manufacturers.

Gotta love the constant "Nintendo go third party threads". I've  been hearing this nonsense for 15+ years, and from what I've heard, it's been like that for years before. The fact is that people want their games. They're just upset that they have to buy another console for it. I can guarantee that if Nintendo put out a console similar to the competition with the same features, online, and games. People still wouldn't buy their console s due to brand loyalty. There has always been a "kiddie" stigma behind Nintendo, that keeps people from buying their consoles. I'd compare it to how kids act in school, they don't want to be different and be made fun of, just like people don't want to be made fun of for gaming on Nintendo. Can't tell you how many times I have been treated like shit just because of the video game system I own, like they think they're better than others because of their choice. But you guys have to deal with it. If you want their games, buy their consoles, just like if Nintendo gamers want uncharted or halo, they have to buy those consoles.

Actually Nintendo put out two consoles similar to competition: Gamecube and Wii U - nobody was interested in them.

Maybe the majority that didnt play splatoon.(or newer versions of zelda games). Aiming on motion controls is perfect for me.

That comment was specifically about Mario Kart.

The motion controls are perfect for Mario Kart. The only controls I've used to play MK since they were introduced on Wii.
