That makess sense and you've kind of got my hyped. Problem is if we've listened to what Reggie said recently though, the correlation does not mean its a 3DS successor. It only means games traditionally on the 3DS will make the leap onto the Switch. This makes the deal of owning one sweeter in my book. They are finally learning that they need to beef up their first party on the platform, which hindered the Wii U in the first place with growing names between both the 3DS and the Wii U. Problem for that theory is that the gimmick of the switch is to to be a mobile home console and Reggie stated that clearly. Its been evident though that Nintendo likes the idea of making a real portable because they can amass a massive library at a cheaper price.

You succeeded at hyping me up for the Switch a little more. This is the point of debate...which is educated disucssion. Personally, I dont care how it sells, I was going to get it later....but perhaps now it might be sooner.  All I know is Wii U sales are a record low for Nintendo and they need a console with a steady stream of titles.

Have a good one.

I think the fact that Reggie stated that games usally on 3DS will make the leap onto Switch gives a pretty solid idea that the Switch will be a successor to the 3DS as well. And I agree in the aspect that they like making a great library for a cheap price, I think we may see, in due time, a price cut to $250 and simliar to the DS and 3DS, some Switch revisions and models, like a Switch Lite at $200, making the jump substantially easier for 3DS owners. Like I said, they want to get the Wii U audience first, hence why Reggie promoted it as a mobile home console, and then when the time is right, they'll start pushing the "HD handheld" aspect of it and get the 3DS audience on board. Time will tell if that actually happens or not, but we'll see.

ANd I agree 100%, happy to have an educated discussion. And they need to truly deliver a healthy stream of games.
You have a good one as well.

I wouldnt be so sure that the Switch is the successor to the 3DS as Reggie said, but other than that its all good. ;)
