It may not have the 3DS games... because they're on the 3DS. If 3DS support is what you are referring to, give it time, it'll come. 2017 will be the last year they support the 3DS. With the Switch, in 2017, they want to get the Wii U console owners to jump first, which is where the die-hard, dedicated Nintendo fanbase is. Then, they'll make the switch to getting their handheld audience over in 2018. Fire Emblem will be out by that point, which, if the Fire Emblem fanbase hasn't made the Switch by that point with Fire Emblem Warriors, they will.
And did you already forget about this one tiny little franchise called Pokemon?
Being portable will absolutely help it, ESPECIALLY in Japan where console gaming is a slowly dying breed. That's the main reason people want the thing.
You couldn't carry the Wii U GamePad beyond your bathroom before losing connection. And if you wanted to play it anywhere, you needed to console to go with it, which killed whatever portable factor it had. With the Switch, that problem is gone.
And the fact that this system has dropped the Wii and DS names entirely and is something completely different already eliminates the biggest flaw the Wii U had.
Wii U = People thought it was an add on, tablet accessory to the Wii.
Switch = People know that they can make the Switch between console and handheld and that this is the new Nintendo system.

Lets hope Japan falls for it. Im thinking you're anticipating 3DS sales. Then again...i'm hearing rumors that Nintendo working on a 3DS succesor. For the sake of the switch, I hope this is not true. Correct me if I am wrong, but arent all mainline Pokemon games on the primary portable that Nintendo offers? Anything on the console for Pokemon is secondary compared.
