360 to XB1 - Yes, the 360 lasted 8 years, but that was an odd gen where consoles launched on par, if not better than the best PC's. The way I look at it, 360 was 2X, 4 year cycles, bundled into one very powerful console.

Weren't you saying "4 years is the norm for Microsoft"? What does PlayStation has to do with it?

It doesn't. It explains why you don't see a norm there with XB 4 year cycles though.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
