I thought I did show you where the praise is, so I take that as you not being aware of what Metacritic is?
In that case, it's a site that compiles reviews from a number of reputable review outlets, and displays an average review score based on all the reviews.
So if for example Eurogamer, IGN, and Gamespot gave Zelda a 93 score, and The Guardian and Gamereactor gave it a 70, it would have an average of 83.
It's pretty hard to get above 90 these days because there are usually some reviewers who lower the average significantly. Both Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian for example ended up on 82. So the fact that Nintendo has several 90+ games, means that they are in fact critically acclaimed as very good games.

And yeah, Splatoon is indeed also a game that needs the Gamepad.

As for articles about the Wii crowd, they've been written by industry analysts and gaming journalists alike. It was a phenomenon that intrigued the whole gaming world. The fact that you are here, posting on this forum, means you are probably not part of that Wii crowd that we're refering to. They were not the only ones who bought the system, after all.
The basic reason as to why they're more interested in Angry Birds than Splatoon is that games like that are free, or very cheap, to download on a device they already use every day. To get Splatoon they need to pay $250+. And since they generally don't have a gaming background, it's difficult to entice them without a message that resonates with them, such as how you played Wii Sports and Wii Fit.

Wii Fit for Wii sold 22.7 Million
Wii Fit for Wii U sold 0.85 Million.

Nintendo are still chasing that ghost from the past, but it seems like a lost cause to try to pry them away from their Candy Crush Sagas on their phones, or Farmville on Facebook, etc. It simply suits them better in most aspects.

Oh, but I am that Wii crowd. I'm here back again because of the interest in Switch. It's not like I wasn't away for five to six years just because I didn't care about the forum, but didn't care about the games after Nintendo started killing the Wii.

You don't obviously understand how business analysis work. They aren't analysing the market, but where the actual investments in the industry are going: trying to guess where the investors are putting their money next. It doesn't really matter who's buying and why, as long they're buying. If you'd understand the consumer space, you would not be an industry analyst, you'd be one of the guys buying the analysis. And gaming journalists have no idea what the market is in the first place. Anyone who followed gaming media back in the Wii days knows it.

Why would anyone interested in Angry Birds would be interested in Splatoon? I know one is free and the other is not, but that has nothing to do with being interested in something. Could you explain? Why Candy Crush or Farmville would suit them better? It was you who said so, and I'd like to know why? Otherwise that's just blowing hot air.
