A patch? the game isn't even out yet they could ad it to the final build lol. 

too late for that, the game has probably already started to be in production, even if it's not, they need to put the option and test it, it will never be ready before they start production.

A patch is the simple, cost effective solution here. You can even make it a optional patch, something you have to go download on the eshop like the Data Packs for Xenoblade.
