I had a quick glance at wikipedia's list for PS4 games, and i counted 159 releases in the first year in NA (might be a couple off, i couldn't be bothered to double check and count again :p). I thought it was a lot less for some reason. I seem to remember many 2014 releases as 2015.

Did that take a lot of time or was it more a result of ctrl + f and looking at the number of results and subtracting or dividing by how many repeated times it appears for the same game?  

I imagine that many games were indie games, since I kind of doubt some of the major devs can pump out games that quickly (and a quick search does show a good handful of them around launch and launch window for PS4).

Not to say the same isn't true for the Switch since it probably is.
