Instead of buying a second dock for $90, I would be very tempted to buy a second standalone console for my game room. That way I don't have to move the dock, nor have to ask the kids where the frigging thing is. At first I'll get the portable version, so my kids can play off tv instead of arguing over the tv. I don't see myself using the portable feature, unless it comes with a VR headset.
Anyway it's not about less features, it's about more options. I'm sure there are people that would like a smaller portable version with integrated controllers as well. Without hd rumble it should last longer too, and could be $200 as well as 1 piece will be much easier to produce than 3.
