Or not. Yal can call it lazy or whatever, but I'd much rather have 720p with no slowdowns, can't tell you many times I've been screwed over by sudden slideshows.

If it has to be 720p to have no slowdowns when docked, then portable mode will have slowdown since that's 720p too.
