Are you referring to hardware or software? Honestly at this point, Sony has no reason to do either.
Hardware
The hardware is new and unproven in the market (you know what I mean; don't start citing Nvidia shield)
If it does do well, then yeah Sony can consider bringing back handhelds, but with the PS4's dominance, they won't need to go out of their way with a hybrid
Plus they have their own initiatives to currently work on such as VR
Software
I mean I do feel in the past they did copy here and there, but this gen Sony has been exploring their own brand and potential especially off the heels of TloU last gen.
