it's far closer in actual objectives and collecting stuff than 3d world which in my opinion is just a glorified 2.5d mario bros. It's still a good game, but everything screams mario bros from that game instead of 3d mario. The galaxy games where not like Super Mario Bros at all and where full 3d mario's and contained vastly complex worlds like SM64.
