Well, I'm not measuring it in that way. I'm basically asking, "Will you buy it again now? And would you have bought it if they added some new tracks, and had a few more as paid DLC down the line?"

For example, when Capcom released Super Street Fighter 4, it was basically the same game as Street Fighter 4, but with a few new mechanics, characters and stages. But if it didn't have new characters, I wouldn't have been as inclined to pick it up.

Now I'm starting to doubt that MK8D will even get additional DLC content, so I wouldn't feel confident in picking this one up if I had already played MK8. Actually, even if I didn't, this may be a sign that MK9 isn't as far off as it presumably would have been if they had supported this title with more additional content, so even though I haven't played MK8, it may be best to wait for MK9.

In that case, for most its still a no. I'm 50/50. Namely because I love playing battle mode locally. I have a lot of friends and family who do too. It's all consistent on  how many can play and how consistenly we can meet up.

Obviously they are going to start working on 9 or another IP, but when that releases would be the issue. I image it will be announced next year the earliest. In that instance, I would be up in the air because you bought the previous version. Either way cash it in or sell it
