Nintendo has been marching to the beat of its own drum for years now. I don't think having expectations of it getting the latest version of third party games like battlefield, cod, assassin's creed, etc were realistic given the history of the Wii and Wii U. It will get plenty of first party support (once 3ds and Wii U developers move onto it). It's up to Nintendo to make it enticing enough and build an audience large enough to convince third parties to develop for it as well.
