Minus the Joy Cons Switch is actually just about the same size as a 3DS XL/iPhone Plus/Galaxy Note. It is not a massive device, and can easily replace 3DS for a good portion of Nintendos user base. I think that 3DS will eventually be fully replaced by Switch in 2019 - 2020 when Switch Mini comes out with 7nm nvidia tech. Hopefully the Switch Phone will arrive then as well.
