I don't think Switch is anywhere close to a Wii/DS type situation, but it's probably not nearly as bad as what the Wii U/GameCube were.
Truth will likely end up somewhere in the middle, I'd say probably a bit below the 3DS, but still relatively profitable.
It's gonna be kind of a "boring" system for sales debaters because it's going to be neither a huge blockbuster but it's not going to sell bad enough to be termed a failure either. Just gonna be kinda in the middle.
Launch sales will probably be brisk because of limited supply and Zelda fanatics snatching up initial units, then you'll likely see a lull after the early adopters get theirs, but then an evening out as fall rolls around.
