If there is a sensor on the Switch, Nintendo isn't pointing it out. It would have to be at the top of the console for TV-connected play.
I don't think there's much demand for IR pointer and M+ games in portable mode. I hope M+ and pointer controls are on there but I can see why Nintendo would leave them out.
