... Excuse me? I work 40 hours a week (Full time) and don't even get half of that a month, had to convert GBP to Euros, but it doesn't even hit 1500.

Just read a statistic on wages in Germany and the 50% of the working population gets less than (and obviously 50% more than) 2500€ before taxes. That's about 1500€ - 1600€ after taxes.
